Week 13 | Clubhouse
What a ride! The Block’s milestone 20th season has been everything we could have wished for – a rollercoaster competition full of laughs, tears, a healthy dose of drama, and amazing designs.
In lucky Week 13, the final week of competition, our Blockheads had to design the perfect clubhouse – a home retreat for fun, relaxation and entertainment. Kristian & Mimi brought it home strong to win the room reveal with their sensational home cinema. Irresistible sofas, plush furnishings and incredible lighting brought the old Hollywood glamour, while Freedom’s Siena nested tables added to the vintage look with marble tops and gold-plated bases.
The dreamy details didn’t stop there, with Freedom homewares featured throughout the clubhouses, including the elegant Scandi candle holders and Solene mirror, and the Maura chain link, crafted from natural stone.
Kylie & Brad designed an adults’ retreat that combined a games room with grown-up detailing. The space was full of comfort, class and natural colours, featuring Freedom’s super-soft Aero sofa and armchair in sumptuous velvet caramel, and the Nowra entertainment unit made from mango wood. These stylish pieces played off against the pool table and game machines to complete the high impact space that was full of fun.
Congratulations to all teams for an incredible season of competition. Stay tuned for auction day to find out who be crowned The Block winners for 2024.
Week 12 | Front Garden & Facade
First impressions counted more than ever in Week 12 on The Block as teams showcased their front gardens and façades in the effort to impress the judges with only one more week of competition to go. Courtney and Grant continued their incredible winning streak with first place for their welcoming façade and front garden, complete with an impressive pergola leading up to the house. The couple chose Freedom’s Biscay package to ground their garden, its stylish terrazzo finish and solid construction making for a cool take on durable outdoor furniture.
It was hard to go past Ricky and Hadyn’s hot pink front and garage doors (complete with flamingos in the front garden) but a peek round the side of the house revealed a cool entertaining space complete with firepit and the Freedom Ataman outdoor modular sofa. This versatile sofa configuration allows for everyone to sit around the fire, with its durable design for outdoors.
Kristian and Mimi went large for their reveal, turning their supersized first floor balcony into sheltered entertaining sanctuary. They chose the Cannes modular sofa package to create the perfect entertaining corner for every occasion, from laid-back afternoons to social evenings.
Good luck to all teams for the final week next week – it's all to play for!
Week 11 | Backyard & Pool
The teams took it outside this week – with Backyard and Pool reveals being the name of the game. Outdoor living and entertaining spaces are filled with opportunities for inviting and inspired design choices. And with each team being given a Freedom voucher, we were on-hand (or on deck) to help every team realise their poolside potential.
Courtney & Grant ended up taking home the win for the second week in a row, with a stunning outdoor space that seamlessly flowed out from the indoor living areas. They featured the elegant Sonata sofa and armchair, artfully combining style and functionality. Maddy & Charlotte spotlighted the Kala coffee table, along with the timber textures and neutral hues of the Boree sofa and armchairs – a great combination of style and functionality. Kylie & Brad called on the Cannes Sun Lounger for their outdoor space, delivering comfort and character alike.
Congrats again to Courtney & Grant for scoring back-to-back wins this close to the grand finale!
Week 10 | Mezzanine Bedroom & Laundry
There are only a few weeks to go on this season of The Block – and as week 10’s room reveals showed, there’s still plenty of room for incredible design to be found before auction day rolls around. This week was all about the Mezzanine Bedroom and Laundry. Two very different rooms, each with all kinds of opportunities to make a space stand out. Which is exactly what the teams did.
Courtney and Grant took home another win after delivering spaces that felt open and inviting – where neutral tones were balanced with splashes of forest green, terracotta and timber. The wicker base and white fabric of Freedom’s Sonata 3-seater and Armchair added to the natural textures, while the Hubert Floor Mirror added extra dimension to the space. Kristian and Mimi made impeccable use of a floor mirror too – in this case, the rectangular Solene Floor Mirror – and demonstrated just how impactful the natural hue and texture of the Orissa Floor Rug can be.
Week 9 | Office Rumpus
It’s Week 9 on The Block and what a ride it has been for Ricky & Haydn! The guys haven’t always made it across the room reveal finish line, but this week they not only made the deadline; they won the Office Rumpus challenge in style sharing top spot with Maddy & Charlotte.
We can’t stop talking about Courtney & Grant’s talent for styling to create drama and impact through an art deco look with a modern twist using a pair of Jamie armchairs – a great choice for small spaces. The soft, on-trend bouclé offers plush comfort and was chic alongside Freedom’s green marble-effect Champy side table, sitting on black and white geometric flooring. The team also included Freedom’s Verde side table with its exquisite Levante marble base, and Freedom’s Porteno coffee table, which features a stunning travertine top on a reclaimed teak base.
Congrats to all our teams this week – the competition is really hotting up!
Week 8 | Living & Dining
Week 8 on The Block was the week to wow the judges with teams revealing their living and dining spaces. After winning the kitchen reveal in Week 6 with their dramatic design, Kylie & Brad were victorious again, creating a living and dining area that extended seamlessly from their kitchen in an open-plan dream.
Courtney & Grant also caught the judges’ attention with the Freedom Aero armchair in showstopping caramel velvet. Best described as your favourite fluffy cloud, this super comfy armchair and sofa range can be customised for every living space with a myriad of colours to choose from.
The sofa game was strong this week with Ricky & Haydn and Maddy & Charlotte choosing Freedom’s Sorrento sofa and armchair range to make their rooms stand out. Loved for its laid-back coastal aesthetic, featuring an oversized seating area and cleverly concealed timber feet. These sofas look great from every angle, and what a week! It’s still all to play for.
Week 7 | Mezzanine Ensuite
If you’ve been craving a mezzanine ensuite (and really, who hasn’t?) then The Block Week 7 was your week. While teams had plenty to sink their teeth into the previous week for the big kitchen reveal, this week they had to show off their skills in an altogether different space. So, could Kylie & Brad follow up their kitchen win with an ensuite victory? And with The Block officially past the halfway mark, who else should we be keeping our eyes on?
Block fans may still be recovering from the dramatic exit of Jesse & Paige in Week 4. But as one door closes another one opens, and their replacements, Maddy & Charlotte, have really hit the ground running – winning the mezzanine ensuite reveal in style. Their combination of textured tiles and stone-top vanity with olive green basin perfectly encapsulated the Philip Island aesthetic. Added to that, the pair used Freedom’s wide range of homewares to lift the look even further, incorporating everything from soap dispensers to Turkish towels. Freedom’s Cowrie and Blenheim towels added texture to the room, while Freedom’s Curlew towels were chosen for their tassel trims. Congratulations Maddy & Charlotte, we can’t wait to see what all our teams deliver next week.
The Blockheads served up a design feast this week as the kitchen reveal delivered supersized portions of style.
Kylie & Brad showed off their can-do attitude and work ethic, pulling together a dramatic winning kitchen. Their penchant for dark tones finally paid off using midnight-coloured cabinetry combined with well-considered tableware from Freedom to elevate the atmosphere and enhance the dining experience.
The kitchen glow-up from Maddy & Charlotte was full of golden timber and warm accents, rounded out by rattan counter stools. You’ll find similar styles in Freedom’s Online Exclusive collection. The Anguera counter stool is crafted from solid oak wood with upholstered cushion seats delivering style and comfort. With over 25,000 curated Online Exclusive products, there’s even more choice online to discover an extended range at Freedom.
Ricky & Hadyn’s kitchen was all elegance with white marble worktops and pale timber-veneer joinery. The guys also used kitchen stools to make a statement, similar to the Brandsen dining stools in Freedoms online exclusive collection. Upholstered in vegan leather, padded seats and ergonomic curves making them an inviting option.
The Block Week 5 featured the much-anticipated master bedroom reveal and another masterclass in design from Kristian & Mimi. But this week they shared top spot with worthy joint winners, Courtney & Grant.
Kristian & Mimi's room featured the Freedom Orissa Floor Rug, a blend of wool and jute that added warmth and organic charm to the room and paired beautifully with the wood panelling behind the bed. Meanwhile, Block newcomers Maddy & Charlotte – who have stepped in after Jesse & Paige’s sudden exit from the show – brought serenity into their room with the Toorak Piped Headboard from Freedom. Upholstered in high quality Warwick fabric, the broad colour palette of this product gave the new duo plenty to work with and they matched its soft tone with the Como Quilt Cover Set from Freedom, crafted from 100% linen for year-round comfort.
Realising the importance of carefully considered lighting in a master bedroom, Kylie & Brad created a dreamy ambiance in theirs by using the Glaronisi Ceiling Pendant by Freedom. With its paper rope design, this is certainly a standout piece. Each product from Freedom enhanced the aesthetics and brought style and comfort to these beautifully designed spaces.
The Block went back to the bedroom this week and all eyes were on Kristian and Mimi, who didn’t disappoint. Their second bedroom design – an incredibly gorgeous kids’ room with amazing attention to detail – won the Week 4 challenge and showed why this dynamic duo is officially the team to beat.
With Ricky and Hadyn looking to improve on their last bedroom score, they received a style consult with Freedom Interior Decorator, Jack Keen, and pulled together a polished second bedroom with a beautifully considered colour palette. Making excellent use of the narrow space, the guys included the Freedom Arlo queen bed and bedside table, which both combine oak and hessian to invite nature into the space. Playing off the curved wall feature, Freedom’s Mia bench looked very much at home at the end of the bed, while Freedom bed linen finished the look in style.
We can’t wait to see what all our teams create next!
The Blockheads were given another crack at designing stellar bathrooms this week, with Courtney and Grant taking out the Week 3 master ensuite challenge.
Having lost points in Week 1 for not bringing enough drama for judge Shaynna, Courtney and Grant stayed true to their ‘Moditerranean’ aesthetic, incorporating coastal tones throughout, combined with a standout marble vanity top and eye-catching details. Their winning design showed how finishing touches – from towels to candles, to an elegant soap dispenser – could really pull a room together, and how using the kind of quality accessories available at Freedom can elevate any bathroom space.
Congrats Courtney and Grant!
Irresistible bedroom designs were on show in Week 2 of the Block. Courtney & Grant created a super cute kids’ bedroom complete with Freedom’s Kaspar Bedside Tables. With plenty of storage for books and toys, they’re specially weighted to help prevent tipping, making them perfect for little monkeys.
Jesse and Paige played with coastal tones to create a restful space. At its heart was Freedom’s Klara Bed – an Australian take on Scandi design featuring on-trend rattan headboard and rounded feet.
And fresh off their win in Week 1, Kristian and Mimi created a master bedroom worthy of a boutique hotel. Freedom’s handwoven Pearce Floor Rug added warmth and style, while elegant Abelia and Chairo cushions brought texture and comfort.
The Block is back and off to a flying start for its 20th anniversary! The show has made a sea change to Victoria’s Phillip Island this season and Courtney and Grant – aka the Red Team – played to the coastal theme with their first room reveal.
Full of warm light and sandy tones, their bathroom showed why this couple is known for blending Mediterranean and modern. Their choice of towels – Freedom’s Curlew Dark Olive Green Towels – was a clever finishing touch. Made from 100% cotton, they’re super soft and feature tassel trims to set them apart.
Congrats to Kristian and Mimi for taking out the winning bathroom design for Week 1.
