CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION

Dear friends of Freedom,

As the challenges of Coronavirus (COVID-19) become more apparent, it’s important to inform you of the steps we’re taking to minimise risk within our stores and the wider community.

Right now, our key priority is the health and safety of our customers, staff, and those most vulnerable.

Where possible, Freedom aims for business as usual. This means our stores—both physical and online—are still trading and open during regular hours. Social distancing and general hygiene practices are key and we’re taking extra precautions, this includes ensuring that our stores are clean and hygienic, particularly in high-traffic areas like payment counters and asking all customers and staff to maintain, where possible, at least a 1.5 metre distance, avoid shaking hands and encourage our customers to finalise payments via ‘tap and go’ payment methods.

We are stringently following health and travel guidance issued by the Australian and New Zealand Authorities. This includes mandatory isolation for anyone returning from overseas, as well as providing staff with health and hygiene protocols, encouraging those who are unwell to remain at home.

For those awaiting delivery, there will be a minor impact on the supply chain in terms of lead times. Rest assured delivery is still going ahead, albeit with additional measures in place to protect both customers and staff. Some disruption will be unavoidable with extended closures of factories, although we are taking steps to minimise delays including working with our local Australian suppliers to complement our sourcing from overseas.

At Freedom, we are committed to supporting team members and customers through this time and beyond. As the situation continues to evolve, the above plans may change but for now, we ask that you make health your number one priority.

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, our distribution partner Unitrans has implemented the following changes to our ‘contactless delivery’ protocols:

  • All goods are delivered to the ‘first point of egress’ and no longer to a room of choice. This means that the product will be delivered to the first space within a customer’s home or apartment that they can close off to the public. eg. Entry Hall, Garage, Patio etc.
  • Our delivery teams will not unpack product and/or assemble products.
  • No proof of delivery signature will be obtained due to social distancing. The delivery team will photograph product delivery and indicate on the ‘proof of delivery’ that the delivery was success and is complete.
  • In a circumstance where the product is unable to be delivered, then an ‘Authority To Leave’ (ATL) in a safe place, suitably weather protected will be obtained from the customer.
