Our friends at Three Birds have achieved another stunning residential transformation. House 15 is Mediterranean-inspired, a contemporary take on a classic style and coulour palette thousands of years in the making. Three Birds trio Bonnie, Erin and Lana share their personal tips to recreate this #ModernMallorca-inspired lounge room at your place...and it's all from Freedom.
"When we’re styling a family lounge room, the word ‘sophisticated’ doesn’t usually feature on our vision board but at our latest project, House 15, there’s definitely an air of sophistication in the lounge room… and it’s fair to say we’re digging it. In fact, it’s one of our favourite rooms in the house.
We achieved this look by selecting key pieces of furniture and combining them with pops of black throughout the space which provides a striking contrast to the overall colour palette of warm whites and neutrals." – Three Birds
Do you want to recreate this #ModernMallorca-inspired lounge room at your place? Here’s what you’ll need… and it’s all from Freedom.
A Statement Sofa
"In the past, we’ve usually looked for sofas with washable covers when we’re styling family rooms, but when Bonnie set her eyes on the Panama 3 Seater leather sofa in-store at Freedom, we knew that there was no going past it for this room. The simple design and contemporary low-slung profile suits the style of the home, and family-friendly leather in the perfect sandy-beige colour shouts sophistication from the rooftops."
Plush Textures
"Mixing materials and textures were key to creating warmth and interest to bring the Mediterranean vibes into this predominately neutral-toned room. We did this by selecting furniture within the same colour palette but incorporating many different textures, like the cute and cosy Cobble fabric occasional armchairs which are perfect seats for extra guests, the Avoca floor rug which offers the ultimate blend of plush underfoot comfort and practical function, and the ultra-soft Platypus duck feather-filled linen cushions to top it all off."
Pops of Black
"Crafted from solid mango wood, the black Grande coffee table is the centrepiece of the room. It’s complemented by the black gas fireplace, the black TV and the styling items like the gorgeous Belden decorative vessel and Tinted Atlas moon candle, to create an air of sophistication."
Natural Materials
"With its beautiful marble top and natural timber legs, the Sovereign console table adds the warmth and interest of natural materials to the space. A console table is a must in any sophisticated lounge room. Then a statement lamp, or a beautiful decorative ornament, creates the perfect ambience."
As we continue our tour through House 15, Three Birds’ all new Mediterranean-inspired masterpiece, we move away from the living area to explore more of the unique style accents that make a house a home.
Continuing the theme of using pops of black for impact, in the office space of House 15 our Seidon dining table in classic black and Abstract vase elevate a small room from sophisticated and stylish, to sensational!
An oversized rug like the beautiful Khloee softens underfoot and grounds a light, bright room filled with pastels and patterns for fun. Comforting accents like the Saidee throw are perfect for those cooler months.
Tonal harmony; a neutral base, layered with textured timber as seen in our Ripples bar cabinet, lighting, and glassware creates warmth and interest.
Layering shades of white and not-quite-white creates a sense calm in a secondary living area or other quiet space. Our Moon coffee table set, a pair of textured concrete full and crescent moons, makes a stunning style statement in House 15.
