Tealights are an easy way to instantly add glamour and romance to your evening. Space-efficient and surprisingly long burning, these affordable little candles can be kept plain and simple or placed in tealight holders for more drama.

Once you have set your table with crockery, cutlery and maybe some foliage, collect a set of tealights and scatter them in and around plates, glasses and settings. Once the lights are dimmed and the tealights are lit, a fairy-scape will be revealed! Another great styling idea for a canape party or a large tapas table is to place the tealights in and around the food itself, creating a magic glow across the platters.

Tealights are incredibly light and so most can float. Create a water centre-piece from a large bowl or vase and allow the little candles to sit on the surface for a zen look.

For outdoor use, tealights can really bring a dark garden to life and highlight décor items like frames and mirrors. If the weather is a little difficult, opt for LED tealights. These hardy candles are battery operated so no wind or drizzle will put them out and as a bonus, we have a scented range too!

The imagination is the limit when decorating with tealights – think of a path of them on each stair winding up a staircase to show guests the way to the guest toilet. You can also create large centrepieces for coffee tables by mixing jar, canister and pillar candles with loads of tealights to create height and detail.
